Physical Therapist Specializing in Pelvic Health | Challenged by Chronic Hip Pain
I discovered Pilates on my continued journey of treating patients with chronic pain conditions
as well as my own long-standing injuries from playing competitive sports/soccer.
I have seen the benefit of incorporating Pilates principles in the treatment of complex conditions.
I am passionate about helping people of all ages break complex pain cycles and poor movement patterns, as well as creating positive movement experiences getting them back to the things they love to do. Pilates is an effective and efficient tool to treat and rehab patients, especially those pertaining to pelvic health, movement dysfunctions and chronic pain conditions.
With my personal experience in dealing with chronic hip pain and working with pelvic health patients, I can empathize with the frustrations that go along with chronic conditions.
It can be a long road to get relief — good and bad days, slow progress, how it can lead to other issues and pain while trying to find the right treatment approach.
I take a holistic approach and that is why I got certified in Pilates. I believe patients often need hands-on treatment but also an extensive exercise routine to correct movement patterns and muscle imbalances.
I have over 13 years of experience as a Physical Therapist
focusing on complex conditions related to the pelvis. I love treating pelvic health issues related to the hip, back, and pelvis. Since everything is connected, I also love treating the shoulder/scapula, knee, and ankle as well. Correcting alignment, spinal mobility, muscle imbalances and overall movement patterns can greatly impact pain and overall quality of life.
Due to my PT background and experience treating complex conditions
I have an eye for funky movement patterns and alignment issues. I have found watching clients move on Pilates equipment can help me quickly identify the source of movement dysfunction and thus begin to make the appropriate changes to improve function.
I have been treating physical therapy patients since 2009
and have treated some of the most complex conditions — especially those relating to the back, hip, and pelvis.
I have developed and led multiple pelvic health programs for outpatient clinics throughout TN and most recently built my own PT and Pilates practice in Nashville, TN before moving to NC.
I love helping clients get to the root of their dysfunction!
